Kansas City Portrait Spotlight: Meet Talent Leader Marci Cain
I’m Marci Cain, a wife, mother, cheer coach, and talent leader who believes in lifting others through positivity, purpose, and presence. I’ve been married since 1996 and am proud to be the mom of three amazing kids: Alora, Shayna, and Echo. Family is everything to me.
After graduating from KU in 1994, I began my career at The Kansas City Star as an intern, working my way up to Co-Promotions Manager. I later transitioned into recruiting, earning three President’s Club Awards and a Shining Star Award. Today, I serve as a Talent Acquisition Team Lead for Korn Ferry Consulting, leading a team of seven at one of the world’s top people consulting firms.

Beyond my professional path, I spent over a decade volunteering for KCFC as a cheer coach and Area Director—mentoring girls to become strong, talented, and confident young women. I’m also passionate about inclusion, especially advocating for children with ADHD and autism, and continue to support my community in any way I can.
To every woman over 40: never let anyone dim your light or make you feel less than. Someone is always looking up to you—so show them what strength, confidence, and grace look like at any age.
