Kansas City Portrait Spotlight: Meet Executive Mentor Kristin Gossett

I’m Kristin Gossett and I’m passionate about supporting professional women and helping them navigate their careers while balancing family life. Over my 29-year journey in leadership, I’ve mentored many women, sharing insights on growing their careers and achieving balance and fulfillment. Although my busy schedule—combined with raising four wonderful children—often limits my ability to volunteer as much as I’d like, mentoring has been a deeply rewarding way to give back.

My greatest achievement, without a doubt, is my children—they inspire me every day and have taught me more than I could have ever imagined.

Professionally, through 28 years, I rose to a Senior Executive level at Cerner/Oracle, but learned the most about myself when I was temporarily unemployed for three months. First and foremost, I learned that loyalty to a company means nothing at the end of the day—but your friends and family mean absolutely everything.

When choosing my next opportunity, culture meant everything, and fortunately, it has been the best choice I could have made. I learned that cultivating a supportive network, never burning a bridge, and staying positive is the best way to land on your feet.
