Kansas City Portrait Spotlight: Meet Marketing Executive Shani Tate Ross

I’m Shani Tate Ross, and I serve as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at T-Mobile Center—an award-winning arena that’s helped anchor more than $9 billion in economic investment in downtown KC.

I lead a brilliant team focused on corporate partnerships, premium experiences, strategic communications, and digital marketing. I’m passionate about visionary communication, creating exceptional experiences, and driving data-backed growth through authentic leadership. I believe in deep collaboration and embracing an entrepreneurial mindset in everything I do.

Before joining T-Mobile Center, I honed my strategic communication skills with the KC Royals, where I was honored to be selected for Major League Baseball’s Executive Development Program. I’m also the youngest graduate of the Centurions Leadership Program, sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.

In 2022, I was humbled to be named one of Billboard Magazine’s Women in Music Top Executives and recognized by the National Diversity & Leadership Conference as one of the Top 50 Leaders in Entertainment.

As a Kansas City native, I care deeply about giving back. I’ve held leadership roles with the Women’s Council of the University of Missouri, The Links, Incorporated, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, and the Women’s Intersport Network. Supporting women and children is central to my purpose.

I hold degrees from both the University of Missouri and UMKC, but my greatest honor is being wife to Davyeon and mom to our incredible fraternal twins, Tatum and Beckham.
