Kansas City Portrait Spotlight: Meet Nurturer Gail Foote

I’ve been a woman who has loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. To me, there has been no more important job in my life. I enjoyed working as a registered nurse when I was young, and after marriage, I kept the books for our family business. I loved helping my husband grow the business into what it’s become today, and now I have the joy of working alongside my three sons. Being part of a family organization is beyond description—it's a gift from God!

There are so many things we need to stand up for in today’s world. One of the most important, to me, is standing up for the unborn. Far too many have been lost, and far too many mothers' and fathers' hearts have been broken. Even if a woman isn’t ready to be a mother, there is another woman out there who desperately wants to be one and cannot conceive. Give her that chance to raise your baby. Our world needs that child.

My encouragement for women over 40 is to keep going—take care of yourself and exercise. You have to care for yourself first so you can care for all the people you love. And don’t forget: put a little rouge on your cheeks, lipstick on your lips, and greet everyone with a big smile every day!

It was so fun having my portraits done! I totally enjoyed the experience. I felt like my outfits inspired me, and I love enjoying life—dressing up, champagne with the girls!
