Kansas City Portrait Spotlight: Meet Life Explorer Becca Moody

Who am I? Still figuring that out—but what I do know is that I’m a 53-year-old mom of four amazing daughters (yes, I had four under four!). They’re all off in college now, and while I wait for the grandbaby chapter to begin, I’m keeping busy waiting tables—and honestly, having fun doing it.

My greatest accomplishment? Teaching my girls to work hard, save smart, and appreciate the value of a dollar. In the past four years, each of them bought and paid off their own brand-new cars—a pretty big feat for young women today. I remind them often how blessed they are and to never take anything for granted.

Travel, Adventure, and Kansas City Portrait Photography

I tell them to use their 20s to go explore the world—take chances, get messy, and make lots of mistakes. That’s how you grow. I’m passionate about traveling with my family and showing them how people live outside our bubble. Travel is the one thing you can spend money on that truly makes you richer.

I try to stay healthy and active, but I don’t always nail it. I’m just taking life one day at a time.

My advice to other women? Don’t stress about the little stuff. Life has a way of working itself out. “Que sera, sera—whatever will be, will be.” Oh—and stretch, move your body, and keep your face out of the sun!
